New publication

Reprint of the first publications about Russian Ordovician trilobites.

Many trilobite species were firstly discovered and described in the works of E. Eichwald, F. Schmidt, A. Volborth, S. Kutorga, C. Pander published in 19th Century.

The complete revision and systematic description of all the Ordovician (and Silurian) trilobites, known in that time, was presented in the works of F. Schmidt (1881 - 1907). More than 60% of trilobite species, known in St. Petersburg region at present time, were described in these works.

We would like to offer you the reprint of the first publications about Russian Ordovician trilobites. We pay a special attention to the works of F. Schmidt being the basis of the scientific studying of the Ordovician trilobites of St. Petersburg region. We also add to the series the papers of A. Volborth (1863) and E. Toll (1889) concerned with the description of the trilobites and other fossils of St. Petersburg region and Siberia.

Originally these works were issued in the Memories of the Imperial Academy of Science of St. Petersburg. The original language is Deutsch. The books contain a lot of original graphics (pictures, drawings) of the first findings of many trilobite species.

We did the best quality photo-copies of the originals, improved the quality of the text and graphics and printed the works in the series of the following 10 volumes:
